Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Service Ends

Bandai Namco's popular fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially closing its servers. This isn't unexpected for many players, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which also struggled with gameplay imbalances and ultimately shut down.

Shutdown Date:

After nearly seven years (launching in 2017), Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage will cease operations on December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until then.

Final Events:

Several events are planned before the game's end-of-service (EOS):

  • Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - October 18th
  • All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
  • ‘Thanks For Everything’ Campaign: November 1st - December 1st

Players can continue collecting Ninja Cards, participating in summons, and using in-game items until the final day. It's recommended to spend any remaining Gold Coins.

Reasons for Closure:

While initially successful with its balanced village-building, trap-setting, and defense mechanics, the game's later stages saw a decline. The introduction of Minato Namikaze triggered a noticeable power creep, alienating many players. Increased pay-to-win elements, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features contributed to the game's eventual closure. The writing was on the wall for many long-time players. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those who wish to try it.
