The team behind Monster Hunter Wilds has just released an exciting pre-launch community update video, packed with details on console specifications, weapon adjustments, and more. Whether you're a PC gamer or a console enthusiast, you'll want to know if your setup can handle the game and what's new behind the scenes. Let's dive in!

Monster Hunter Wilds Aims To Lower Minimum PC Specs

Console Performance Targets Revealed

In a recent pre-launch community update stream on December 19th at 9AM EST / 6AM PST, the Monster Hunter Wilds team, including director Yuya Tokuda, shared insights on the game's performance and upcoming features. They confirmed that a patch will be available for the PS5 Pro at launch next year, enhancing the gaming experience.

For console players, Monster Hunter Wilds will offer two performance modes on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X: Prioritize Graphics and Prioritize Framerate. Opting for graphics will deliver a stunning 4K resolution at 30fps, while choosing framerate will provide a smoother 60fps at 1080p. Xbox Series S users will enjoy a native 1080p resolution at 30fps. The team also fixed a rendering bug in the Framerate mode, leading to improved performance.

Monster Hunter Wilds Minimum Required Specs Will Be Lowered

While specific details on the PS5 Pro's performance were not disclosed, it's promised to offer enhanced graphics right from the game's launch.

For PC gamers, performance will vary based on hardware and settings. The team is actively working to lower the minimum required specs to make the game accessible to a broader audience. More details on this will be shared as the release date approaches. Additionally, Capcom is considering the release of a PC benchmark tool to help players gauge their system's readiness.

2nd Open Beta Testing Phase In Discussion

Monster Hunter Wilds Minimum Required Specs Will Be Lowered

The developers are contemplating a second open beta test, aimed at giving players who missed the first opportunity a chance to experience the game. This potential beta will include new options for players to try out, though it won't feature the changes discussed in the stream. Those updates will be exclusive to the full release.

The livestream also covered adjustments to hitstop and sound effects to enhance the feeling of impact, as well as efforts to mitigate friendly fire. Specific weapons like the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Lance received special attention with tweaks and improvements.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28th, 2025, and will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date nears!
