Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Familiar and Unexpected Mobs
Ahead of the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie, Lego has announced two new sets offering glimpses into the film's action-packed scenes and showcasing key characters and mobs. As reported by GamesRadar, these sets – the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack – expand the existing Minecraft Lego lineup, incorporating minifigures of Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's The Garbage Man.
The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring ($49.99, 491 pieces) depicts a gladiator-style battle. Momoa's character is shown battling a zombie riding a surprisingly large chicken (the scale remains unclear). The set also includes Steve, his companion Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small spectator stand with weaponry.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set ($69.99, 555 pieces) features a large-scale battle in a village setting, highlighting the Nether's Ghast. This set includes a villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.
Both sets launch March 1st, a month before the Minecraft movie's theatrical release on April 4th. The film, revealed last September, initially faced criticism regarding the contrast between the live-action characters and the animated world. However, the director and producer, in a November interview with IGN, expressed confidence in their vision and preparedness for audience reaction.
