Marvel Rivals' Nintendo Switch 2 Debut: A Real Possibility?
The arrival of Marvel Rivals on the Nintendo Switch 2, once deemed impossible, now appears increasingly likely. While NetEase previously dismissed a release on the original Switch due to technical limitations, the upcoming console could alter the situation significantly.
At the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu confirmed ongoing discussions with Nintendo. The primary hurdle remains ensuring consistently smooth performance on the new hardware:
“The first-generation Switch lacked the processing power for our envisioned gameplay. However, if the Switch 2 proves capable, we're prepared to bring the game to the platform.”

Game director Thaddeus Sasser previously stated that neither a mobile version nor an original Switch release was currently planned. A Switch 2 port, if developed, would necessitate a customized build optimized for the console's specifications.
Following the official Nintendo Switch 2 announcement, major game publishers are expressing strong interest. Phil Spencer indicated Xbox's intention to bring its game library to the platform, and Electronic Arts (EA) has also shown its support.
Marvel Rivals itself is set for continued expansion, with the addition of two Fantastic Four members anticipated in future updates.
