Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of side quests, many providing deeper insights into its characters. This guide details how to start and complete the "Bad Blood" quest.
Progressing through the main quest involving finding Mutt will eventually lead you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Henry will suggest checking with Bozhena. Speak to her about Mutt; she'll reveal her daughter Pavlena is missing. Agreeing to help her initiates the "Bad Blood" quest.
Your investigation begins in Troskowitz. Talk to Bailiff Thrush, then Innkeeper Betty at the tavern. They'll provide background on Bozhena and Pavlena, shedding light on their ostracization from the village.
Next, find Woodcutter Dushko. He'll direct you to Roman's house. Note: you'll need lockpicking skills; save your game beforehand. Search Roman's house, examine Pavlena's basket, and return to Dushko for further clues. He'll lead you to a clearing, a favorite spot for the couple.
Follow the blood trail from Roman's house down the hill towards the stream, turning left at the large boulders. You'll discover Roman's body. Continue uphill and speak with Hogherd Hugo, then return to the Troskowitz farm and talk to Hired Hand Straw. A successful dialogue check with Straw reveals crucial information about Jakesh and the events surrounding Roman and Pavlena. You can also update Thrush on your findings. Finally, head to the rocks south of Zhelejov to continue your investigation.
Navigate the large boulder to find a hidden path. Climb the ladder to discover Ota and Pavlena. High Charisma is needed for successful dialogue. These options will convince Ota to release Pavlena: "What's your name?", "Let her go and I'll let you go.", "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship." Pavlena will then kill Ota. Speak with Pavlena and return to Bozhena. Bozhena will then request you kill Jakesh.
The final choice: kill Jakesh or broker peace. Find Jakesh at his child's grave. You can kill him or attempt negotiation. Killing Bozhena is also a possibility, concluding the quest regardless of your action.
In my playthrough, killing Jakesh, while lowering reputation in Troskowitz, significantly increased my standing with Bozhena and Pavlena, unlocking new dialogue with Pavlena and rewarding me with Roman's gift necklace. Sparing Jakesh and achieving peace yields 100 groschen (keep it or share it with Bozhena), allowing Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the settlement.
