S-Tier Characters
The S-Tier includes the cream of the crop in AFK Journey. Lily May, introduced alongside Tasi, has quickly become a must-have for players looking to bolster their Wilder teams. Her high damage output and utility make her a versatile choice for PvP, AFK stages, and Dream Realm. Thoran remains the go-to free-to-play (F2P) tank, especially useful while building up Phraesto. Reinier stands out as the top support for both PvE and PvP, crucial for Dream Realm and Arena. Koko and Smokey and Meerky are essential supports across all game modes, with Odie excelling in Dream Realm and PvE. For PvP enthusiasts, pairing Eironn with Damien and Arden creates a formidable team. Tasi and Harak further enhance the S-Tier with their versatility and strength in various modes.
A-Tier Characters
A-Tier heroes, while not as dominant as S-Tier, are still highly effective. Lyca and Vala leverage the crucial Haste stat, boosting team and personal performance, respectively. Antandra serves as a solid alternative tank to Thoran, offering taunts and shields. Viperian complements Graveborn teams with his Energy-draining and AoE capabilities. Alsa, added in May 2024, is a strong DPS mage, fitting well in PvP with Eironn. Phraesto, introduced in June 2024, is a sturdy tank but lacks offensive prowess. Ludovic, from August 2024, is a versatile healer, particularly effective with Talene. Cecia, once a top-tier DPS, now offers less value in the late game. Sonja, added in December 2024, enhances the Lightborne faction with her damage and utility.
B-Tier Characters
B-Tier characters are functional but less optimal. Valen and Brutus are reliable early-game DPS options, while Granny Dahnie is a decent tank for those without Thoran or Antandra. Arden and Damien, despite being B-Tier, are crucial for PvP Arena teams. Florabelle, added in April 2024, supports Cecia well but requires significant investment. Soren, introduced in May 2024, is decent in PvP but underperforms in PvE. Korin has been downgraded due to changes affecting his effectiveness in Dream Realm.
C-Tier Characters
C-Tier heroes are useful early on but quickly outclassed. Parisa, for example, serves as a temporary mage but should be replaced as soon as possible. These characters are best used until you can acquire more powerful options from higher tiers.
