"Lanterns" is set to be a gripping detective drama, drawing inspiration from acclaimed series like "True Detective" and "Slow Horses." The plot follows Chandler's Hal Jordan and Pierre's John Stewart as they team up to investigate a murder, which spirals into a much deeper and darker mystery. This series is a key component of James Gunn's expansive DC universe, which also encompasses projects like "Creature Commando" and the eagerly awaited films "Superman" and "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow."

The show has been crafted by a talented trio: Damon Lindelof, known for "Lost," alongside Chris Mundy and Tom King. James Gunn has described "Lanterns" as having a "very grounded, very believable, very real" tone, promising a narrative that will surprise audiences with its departure from typical superhero storytelling.
