Where To Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

After the March 2025 update for *Fields of Mistria*, Essence Stones can be discovered inside chests scattered throughout the mines. I stumbled upon my first one while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60. However, these chests can appear on any level across all biomes and floors. Be cautious of mimic enemies that mimic the appearance of chests but will harm you upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but with diligent searching, you can uncover larger deposits. If finding them proves challenging, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery, which you can build within the mines.

How To Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria* becomes accessible through a new story quest introduced in the March 2025 update. This quest involves building the refinery from scratch within the mines, with assistance from Adeline, Olric, and Errol after completing prerequisite quests.

To construct the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once built, the Stone Refinery allows you to craft Essence Stones of various sizes. Each requires Stone and Essence, with the amount varying by size:

Tiny Essence Stone	x5 Stone x5 Essence
Small Essence Stone	x10 Stone x25 Essence
Medium Essence Stone	x20 Stone x50 Essence
Large Essence Stone	x40 Stone x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the refinery also enables crafting a range of common materials, as well as Refined Stone and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond. This makes it a central hub for obtaining crafting supplies essential for various projects and new builds in Mistria.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update brought the much-anticipated auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both of which require Essence Stones to operate. Larger stones provide a longer charge duration, with Large Essence Stones offering the most extended use.

The auto-petter mechanic is facilitated by the Animal Sprite Statue, which can be placed in Large Barns and Coops. With an Essence Stone in use, this statue will automatically pet all animals within the structure daily. You can find the first statue in a concealed cave near Errol’s house in the Narrows, accessible by using the Dragon’s Breath spell. Additional statues can be crafted once unlocked.

The sprinkler mechanic, on the other hand, is activated by the Water Sprite Statue. When placed on your farm, it will automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius as long as an Essence Stone is powering it. You can craft more statues as needed to cover more of your crops. The initial statue and a crafting scroll can be found on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area, accessible by swimming and using Dragon’s Breath to enter.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with future updates from NPC Studio, the utility of Essence Stones is likely to expand further.
