In *Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii*, Goro Majima boasts two unique fighting styles, with the "Sea Dog" style featuring four powerful finishers for crowd control. However, unlocking all the Dark Instruments in this game is a challenging journey.
The Dark God's Violin is the first Dark Instrument you can unlock in Pirate Yakuza, and it's essential for progressing the main storyline. You'll encounter it during Chapter 2, where your crew member Jason leads you to an old friend. Unfortunately, you'll find that the Devil Flag pirates have killed Jason's friend and stolen the priceless Pharoh Stone.
This event introduces Misaki, the orphaned daughter of Jason's friend, who joins your crew seeking revenge. The questline leads you to the islands east of Madlantis, where you'll face a formidable fleet of Devil Flag pirates. Focus your attacks on the boss ship to board it and defeat the pirates, earning you the Dark God's Violin. After obtaining it, you'll have the chance to test this new finisher in a thrilling 100-enemy brawl on the island.
Following the battle, a cutscene introduces you to the captains of the Devil Flag fleet: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus. They challenge the Goro Pirates, setting off a sidequest. While not necessary for the main story, defeating these captains is crucial for collecting all the Dark Instruments.
After securing the Dark God's Violin and engaging in the initial brawl, you'll notice special Devil Flag markers while sailing. Defeating these ships earns you Devil Flags, and you'll need 70 to progress to the next Dark Instrument. Engage any Devil Flag ships or treasure islands you encounter to amass flags quickly.
Once you've collected 70 flags, Atali Island will unlock on your map. Prepare a strong landing party, as you'll face multiple waves of attackers. Defeat Devil Flag Captain Yakuza to claim the Dark God's Ocarina from the treasure chest.

After defeating Captain Yakuza, you'll be led to a ruse involving the Pharoh Stone, triggering another 100-enemy fight. Use your new Dark God's Ocarina to triumph over the mob.
Next, you'll learn that Zeus is headed to Flame Island. This stage requires a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags. Sail to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse, where you'll unlock four treasure islands: Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat. These islands have no health item consumption during battles, so ensure Goro and his landing crew are well-prepared.
After conquering the treasure islands, you'll face another fleet battle. Focus on the boss ship, board it, and defeat the first mate to land on Flame Island. Choose Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima for your team. Engage in smaller battles before facing Captain Ronin. Use your Dark Instruments to defeat him and claim the Dark God of the Earth's Guitar from the treasure chest.
The final Dark Instrument, the Dark God's Saxophone, requires a Pirate Rank Four and 220 Devil Flags. Achieve the rank by completing main story missions, recruiting new crew members, and engaging in mini-games and side quests. Sail to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse to engage the Devil Flag's Fleet and unlock four more islands: Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial.
Defeat Captain Shinobi's First Fleet before landing on Frost Island. Navigate through battles and into a cave, followed by a recovery area. The final boss fight against Captain Shinobi awaits, and after defeating him, a cutscene with Zeus unfolds, where he takes Misaki hostage. You'll obtain the Dark God's Saxophone, completing your collection of Dark Instruments.
One last battle against Zeus awaits to rescue Misaki. This two-stage battle is challenging and requires a nearly fully upgraded Goromaru. However, it's not necessary for collecting the Dark Instruments.
And that's how you obtain all Dark Instruments in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
