Two GTA Titles Are Leaving Netflix Games Next Month

Netflix subscribers who enjoy playing Grand Theft Auto games on Android via Netflix Games will soon see some significant changes. Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City are leaving the Netflix Games catalog next month.

Why Are These GTA Games Leaving Netflix, and When?

This isn't a sudden decision. Netflix licenses games similarly to how it licenses movies and TV shows. The licenses for these two GTA titles are expiring. You'll notice a "Leaving Soon" label on the games before they're removed.

GTA III and Vice City were added to Netflix Games exactly one year ago. Netflix's initial agreement with Rockstar Games was a 12-month contract. Therefore, these games will be unavailable to Netflix subscribers after December 13th. If you're currently enjoying the mayhem of Liberty City or the neon-drenched streets of Vice City, it's time to finish up your adventures. However, rest assured, CJ and the crew from San Andreas remain available on the platform.

What's Next for These Titles?

If you haven't completed these games, you can purchase them from the Google Play Store. The Definitive Editions of Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City are available for $4.99 each, or you can get the entire trilogy for $11.99.

Unlike the removal of Samurai Shodown V and WrestleQuest last year, Netflix is giving players advance notice of the GTA games' departure. It's interesting that Rockstar Games isn't renewing their license with Netflix Games, especially considering the significant subscriber growth Netflix experienced in 2023 partially attributed to the GTA trilogy.

However, rumors suggest Rockstar and Netflix are collaborating on potential remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and even Chinatown Wars. Let's hope these rumors prove true!
