Take-Two Interactive has reaffirmed that *Grand Theft Auto 6* is slated for a fall 2025 release, maintaining the excitement and anticipation among fans. In their third quarter financial results ending December 31, 2024, the parent company of Rockstar Games explicitly mentioned GTA 6 for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. This confirmation reassures fans that the game remains on schedule, with no delays announced at this point.

In an interview with IGN prior to the financial report's release, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick acknowledged the inherent risks in game development but expressed strong confidence in meeting the fall 2025 deadline. "Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things," Zelnick noted. "So we feel really good about it." When pressed for details on GTA 6's development, Zelnick remained cautiously optimistic, emphasizing Rockstar's pursuit of perfection and the competitive landscape. "We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited."

The release date of GTA 6 continues to be a focal point in the entertainment industry, with competitors closely monitoring Rockstar's moves. EA CEO Andrew Wilson recently hinted at potentially delaying the next Battlefield game based on the release timing of major titles like GTA 6, underscoring the game's anticipated impact on the market.

While the release window for GTA 6 remains firm, fans are eagerly awaiting the second trailer, which has yet to be released over a year after the first trailer dropped. This delay has fueled extensive speculation among the community. In the meantime, IGN offers a wealth of content on GTA 6, including insights from a former Rockstar developer who suggests that a decision on any potential delay might not be made until May 2025, Zelnick's evasive comments on a PC version, and expert analysis on whether the PS5 Pro can run GTA 6 at 60 frames per second.

Take-Two also reported impressive sales figures for other titles. *Grand Theft Auto 5* has now sold-in 210 million units worldwide, with *GTA Online* experiencing a strong quarter thanks to the Agents of Sabotage update. GTA+ memberships saw a 10% year-over-year increase. *Red Dead Redemption 2* has surpassed 70 million copies sold, with the game currently enjoying its highest level of concurrent players on Steam.

Take-Two's 2025 lineup is packed with anticipated releases, including the recently launched *Civilization 7* from Firaxis, *PGA Tour 2K25* and *WWE 2K25* in March, *Mafia: The Old Country* in the summer, *GTA 6* in the fall, and *Borderlands 4* from Gearbox before the year ends. The company expressed high optimism about the commercial potential of these titles, expecting them to have a transformative impact on their business and the industry in the long term. Take-Two remains highly confident in achieving record levels of Net Bookings in fiscal years 2026 and 2027.
