The Gothic 1 Remake demo has been released on Steam

To celebrate the release of the Gothic 1 Remake demo, "Nyras Prologue," THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled a new trailer. Unlike the original Gothic, where you played as the Nameless Hero, this demo lets you experience the game as Nyras, a prisoner fighting for survival in the brutal world of Khorinis.

This demo, released during the Steam Next Fest, has already shattered concurrent player records for the entire Gothic series:

The "Nyras Prologue" showcases the remake's stunning visuals, enhanced animations, and the revamped Unreal Engine 5-powered combat system. While the demo offers a taste of the experience, it naturally doesn't fully represent the expansive freedom and deep RPG mechanics awaiting players in the complete game.

Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and GOG). A firm release date is yet to be announced.
