This 80s-set showdown follows the previously released Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1. The story unfolds shortly after Spider-Man's return from Battleworld in Secret Wars (1984), as he grapples with the symbiote suit. He'll need every bit of his enhanced abilities to face the King of the Monsters.

Joe Kelly (soon to relaunch The Amazing Spider-Man) pens the script, with art by Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men), and cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.

"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped for it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This issue lets us go wild with two legendary characters, capturing the era's chaotic energy. Nick Bradshaw perfectly embodies the absurdity while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his undeniably awesome black suit!) the respect they deserve. It's a love letter with a monstrous roar!"

This isn't the first superhero-Godzilla face-off; DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (and its sequel) featured the MonsterVerse versions. Marvel's series, however, focuses on Toho's classic Godzilla.

This announcement follows IDW's reveal of Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, an anthology benefiting wildfire relief.
