Fortnite reverses its controversial decision about one of the skins

The iconic Master Chief, star of the Halo franchise and a popular Fortnite skin, recently returned to the item shop after a two-year hiatus, much to the delight of fans. However, a controversy quickly arose concerning the Matte Black style, originally offered exclusively to Xbox Series S|X players.

Initially advertised as perpetually obtainable, Epic Games' sudden announcement of its discontinuation sparked considerable backlash. Some players even threatened legal action, suggesting a potential violation of consumer protection laws.

Fortunately, Epic Games swiftly reversed its decision within 24 hours. The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single match on an Xbox Series S|X console.

This reversal appears to be the most prudent course of action, especially given the holiday season. Spoiling the festive cheer with such a contentious move would have been ill-advised.
