New Year's Festivities Arrive in Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go rings in 2025 with a New Year's event! Niantic is celebrating the new year with festivities including the New Year's 2025 event, Fidough Fetch, and the upcoming Sprigatito Community Day. Kicking things off is the Eggs-pedition Access, a paid in-game event running throughout January.

For $4.99, the Eggs-pedition Access, starting January 1st and running until January 31st, unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching adventures. This also includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, increasing your storage capacity to 40 Gifts, allowing you to open up to 50 daily, and enabling you to collect 150 from Photo Disc spins.

What's in Store for the New Year's 2025 Pokémon Go Event?

The New Year's 2025 event in Pokémon Go runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there are no new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this year, there's still plenty of festive fun.

Expect to encounter wild Jigglypuff with ribbons, Hoothoot in New Year's attire, and Wurmple sporting party hats—all with a boosted Shiny rate. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.

Raids will feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny odds. Themed Pokémon will also appear in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
