Epic's Freebie Frenzy: January 16's Unveiled!

Escape Academy, the acclaimed escape-room puzzle game, is the Epic Games Store's free offering for January 16th, 2025. This marks the fourth free game Epic has offered this year and, boasting an 80 average score and 88% recommendation rate on OpenCritic, is currently the highest-rated free game of 2025 on the EGS.

Players will have a full week, until January 23rd, to claim their free copy. Developed by Coin Crew Games, Escape Academy challenges players to hone their escape room skills as students at the titular academy, aiming to become "escape room masters." The game, initially released in July 2022, offers both single-player and highly-regarded online/split-screen co-op modes. Its positive reception extends across multiple platforms, including Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox stores.

While previously offered as a free mystery game on the EGS on January 1st, 2024, this giveaway provides the first opportunity to claim it for a full week. This timing is especially beneficial for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as Escape Academy is leaving the service on January 15th.
