EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes
EA Vancouver has dropped a new update (Patch 1.18) for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update introduces undefeated Light Heavyweight fighter Azamat Murzakanov, boasting impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking), along with three undisclosed new alter egos.
The update also addresses several issues. A key gameplay adjustment reduces the muscle modifier's stamina cost from 3.125x to 2.5x. Bug fixes include correcting translation errors in multiple languages and resolving a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang match result display problem. Additionally, updated portraits for Stipe and Jones from UFC 309 reflect their updated gloves.
Further enhancements include a refined "More Offers Store" allowing sorting by release series (Pride, Prime, Champion, etc.) and the addition of various cosmetic rewards.
This update arrives shortly before EA Sports UFC 5's addition to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play on January 14th. While other titles join the standard tier, UFC 5 will be exclusive to the Ultimate tier. This release follows the game's October 2023 launch, which initially faced criticism for its roster. EA Vancouver has since actively expanded the roster, achieving 98% parity with current UFC top ten rankings.
