Confronting Ebony Odogaron, the swift guardian of the Ruins of Wyveria in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, requires strategy. This creature boasts incredible speed, making it a challenging opponent.
Known Habitats: Ruins of Wyveria
Breakable Parts: Head, Tail, Legs
Recommended Elemental Attack: Water
Effective Status Effects: Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (3x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (-).
Effective Items: Pitfall Trap, Shock Trap, Flash Pod
Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most frustrating trait. Stunning it is crucial. Utilize nearby Flashflies or craft Flash Pods to temporarily immobilize it.
Soloing Ebony Odogaron is incredibly difficult. Send out SOS flares to recruit hunters. If no players answer your call, NPCs will provide valuable support, acting as a distraction.
In certain areas, dislodging Entangled Rocks with your slinger can stun the monster—but this is a one-time tactic. Combine this with Pitfall and Shock Traps for additional immobilization opportunities.
Ebony Odogaron inflicts Dragonblight, hindering your elemental and status effect damage. Carry Nulberries to counteract this, or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance.
Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron. Immobilizing it creates significant openings for damage. If you can knock it down near roots, it might become further entangled.
Ebony Odogaron's head is its 3-star weakness, but it's also a risky target. Consider focusing on its forelegs and tail for safer, albeit less damaging, attacks. Breaking limbs can also be beneficial.

Capture Ebony Odogaron by using a Pitfall or Shock Trap once its health is below 20%. Attempting capture at higher health will fail.
