How to Complete In Vino Veritas in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Some side quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can be more enjoyable than others, but "In Vino Veritas" presents a unique challenge with its nested quests and intricate steps. Here's a detailed walkthrough to help you navigate through it successfully.

Speak with Casper and Havel

To kick off "In Vino Veritas," locate Casper Rudolf near his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City. Just enter through the east gate and head straight; you can't miss him. Casper is keen to uncover the secret behind the monks' superior wine, but first, you need to gather some information. Make sure to exhaust all dialogue options with him to learn about Havel and the book he left with Adleta. This information will give you different ways to approach the first part of the quest, which involves impressing Havel.

If you choose to retrieve the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall in the morning or afternoon. You'll find an open garden where Adleta often spends her time. Before you go, pick five Marigolds. Try to speak with Adleta before her brother Hugo arrives, or if Hugo is already there, obtain his permission to talk to her. Keep your conversation with Adleta friendly and explain that you need the book for Casper. You can either pass a skill check to convince her to give you the book or offer her the Marigolds as a gift in exchange for it. Once you have the book, read it from your inventory.

Alternatively, you can skip the book and go directly to Havel at his inn in Kuttenberg City. Ensure your Charisma is at least 18 by choosing the right outfit and brushing up on your drinking skills. When you talk to Havel, select these dialogue options:

While you don't need to complete this side quest, starting it allows you to explore the vineyard without being considered a trespasser. Inside, find Jerome, who is usually sitting on a bench near the main building.

Once inside the main building, sneak to the left and enter the storeroom. Use your lockpicking skills to open the chests and find the Sulphur Wicks, which are what Casper needs. For some extra Groschen, visit the garden behind the main building and collect five seedlings before you leave.

If you decide to complete "Under the Straw Hat," engage in tasks such as removing plants around the vines and moving sacks.
