Square Enix has proudly announced that the iconic JRPG, *Chrono Trigger*, is celebrating its 30-year milestone. This significant anniversary is set to be commemorated with a series of exciting projects slated for release throughout the next year. While the details of these projects remain under wraps, the language used in the announcement hints that they might extend beyond the realm of the game itself, sparking immense excitement and speculation among fans.

For decades, enthusiasts have eagerly awaited a comprehensive remaster or a modern console release of this beloved title. Despite its revered status among JRPG aficionados, *Chrono Trigger* has yet to receive a full-fledged remake or even a re-release on PlayStation beyond its initial PS1 port back in 1999. The game has since made its way to PC and mobile platforms, but a definitive modern version remains a much-anticipated dream. Square Enix's history of revisiting its classic titles keeps the hope alive for fans.

Amidst the speculation, the only confirmed event for the anniversary is a special livestream concert showcasing the legendary soundtrack of *Chrono Trigger*. This musical celebration will be available to watch on YouTube, airing on March 14th at 7:00 p.m. PT and running into the early hours of the next morning.

For those new to the series, *Chrono Trigger* is a timeless RPG that features time travel and was crafted by a dream team of developers, including Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy, Yuji Horii, the mastermind behind Dragon Quest, and the legendary artist Akira Toriyama, known for Dragon Ball. Originally launched in 1995 for the Super Famicom and SNES, the game follows protagonist Crono and his diverse group of companions as they traverse various epochs, from a prehistoric era filled with dinosaurs to a dystopian future threatened by an alien force. Players will recruit allies, alter the course of history, and confront one of the most memorable final bosses in gaming history.

As *Chrono Trigger* marks its 30th anniversary, while there's no official word yet on a remake or console port, Square Enix's announcement leaves room for optimism. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to the game's official X page for the latest updates on what's in store.
