The Blood of Dawnwalker, new RPG from CD Projekt RED veterans, revealed

Rebel Wolves, a studio established by former CD Projekt RED developers, recently unveiled their debut title, The Blood of Dawnwalker, in a captivating livestream. The stream featured a four-minute cinematic trailer, serving as the game's opening cinematic and setting the stage for a dark fantasy action RPG experience.

Set in a 14th-century alternate Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man who acquires supernatural abilities after the events depicted in the trailer. His mission: rescue his loved ones from a vampire threat within a strict 30-day timeframe. While time progresses strategically during gameplay, careful resource management is crucial.

Coen faces a compelling moral conflict: embrace his humanity or succumb to his vampiric nature. This pivotal choice significantly impacts both gameplay mechanics and narrative progression. A core mechanic, "Blood Hunger," adds a layer of strategic tension. Prolonged abstinence from blood threatens Coen's control, potentially leading to accidental fatalities and unforeseen consequences.

Players will explore richly detailed environments, with dynamic elements influenced by the time of day. The developers envision the open world as a "narrative sandbox," providing extensive opportunities for player agency and emergent gameplay.

Developed over two years using Unreal Engine 5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A release date has yet to be announced.
