Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator Global Announces EOS

Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's global server is shutting down. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games announced the end of service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG, just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, remains operational and is even preparing for its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025.

Atelier Resleriana EOS Date:

The global server closure is scheduled for March 28th, 2025—ironically, the same month the Japanese version celebrates its 1.5th anniversary. Global players will conclude their journey at Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players progress through Chapter 22 (Part 2).

In-game purchases are disabled, but remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises continued content and events leading up to the closure. The global version's first anniversary was just celebrated on January 25th, 2025.

Reasons for Shutdown:

Developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the reason for the closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system, gameplay, monetization, and excessive power creep appearing shortly after launch.
