Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! The Season Pass boasts Agamotto, a powerful ancient sorcerer, as its centerpiece card. This guide explores the best Agamotto decks currently available.
Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with a game-changing ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:
Notice the "Banish" keyword. These Arcana, lacking power cost, are Skill cards, not character cards. They're played, then banished—they don't go to the discard pile and can't be replayed. This means they combo with Wong but not Odin; King Etri won't pull Agamotto, and Ravonna or Mister Negative won't affect them. Agamotto's diverse Arcana effects make him difficult to categorize into a single archetype.
While Agamotto's definitive archetype may take time to emerge, he currently fits well into two existing deck types: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.
Wiccan Control:
Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galactus, Wiccan, Agamotto, Alioth. [Untapped decklist link here]
This deck is expensive, featuring many Series 5 cards. While Quicksilver is the only non-Series 5 card, many cards can be substituted with similar cost alternatives. Bolts of Balthakk provides late-game energy even if Wiccan isn't drawn early. Temporal Manipulation proactively retrieves Agamotto, while Wombs of Watoomb disrupts opponents. Images of Ikonn excels at creating multiple high-power copies of cards like Cassandra Nova or Galactus.
Push Scream:
Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Spider-Man, Stegron, Cannonball, Agamotto. [Untapped decklist link here]
This deck also features several Series 5 cards (Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Rocket & Groot, Cannonball), some of which can be replaced (e.g., Nightcrawler for Hydra Bob, Jeff for Iron Patriot). Wombs of Watoomb synergizes directly with Agamotto; Temporal Manipulation boosts Agamotto's late-game impact; and Images of Ikonn creates multiple copies of key cards like Scream or Spider-Man. Agamotto adds unpredictability and counters decks featuring Luke Cage or Shadow King.
Agamotto's power level rivals Thanos or Arishem. He'll likely cycle in and out of the meta, creating unique and potentially frustrating synergies. Given his potential to define a new archetype, the Season Pass is a worthwhile investment (9.99 USD) if you have the budget.
