Mattel163 is enhancing popular mobile card games to improve accessibility for colorblind players. This significant update, called "Beyond Colors," introduces colorblind-friendly decks to UNO! Mobile, Phase 10: World Tour, and Skip-Bo Mobile.

What is Beyond Colors?

Beyond Colors replaces traditional card colors with easily distinguishable shapes (squares, triangles, etc.), benefiting the approximately 300 million people worldwide affected by color blindness. All players will find the new system clearer and more intuitive.

Enabling Beyond Colors:

Activating Beyond Colors is simple: Tap your in-game avatar, go to account settings, and select the Beyond Colors deck under card theme options.

Collaboration and Accessibility:

Mattel163 collaborated with colorblind gamers to ensure the new symbols are effective and user-friendly. This initiative reflects Mattel's broader commitment to accessibility, aiming for 80% of their games to be colorblind-accessible by 2025. The development involved color vision deficiency experts and the gaming community, exploring solutions beyond color differentiation, such as patterns and symbols.
