Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news as they've successfully addressed a persistent issue. Ubisoft has finally resolved the compatibility problems that plagued several Assassin’s Creed games, including Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, following the 24H2 update for Windows 11. These issues, which surfaced since at least the fall of 2024, have been fixed through newly released patches. The updates were officially announced on the Steam pages for both Origins and Valhalla.
The gaming community has responded positively to these fixes, expressing gratitude towards Ubisoft for resolving these long-standing issues. Notably, the community has refrained from their usual critiques, recognizing that the problem stemmed from Windows rather than Ubisoft itself. Despite the positive feedback, the recent reviews for both games are still categorized as "Mixed."
Looking forward, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally slated for an earlier release, the game has been postponed to March 20. Ubisoft's decision to delay aims to enhance the game's quality, a move seen as crucial given that the success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could significantly impact the company's future.
