Japanese game studio Furyu Corporation has released Trinity Trigger, an action RPG for Android devices. While the console and PC versions were published in the West by Xseed Games, this new mobile iteration is being self-published directly by Furyu.
You play as Cyan, a young man destined to confront the Warrior of Order as the prophesied Warrior of Chaos. On his journey across the land of Trinitia, Cyan is aided by his alliance with Elise and Zantis.
They fight by his side, supported by creatures known as Triggers. These beast-like companions can transform into eight distinct weapon types. During combat, you can freely switch between characters to adapt your tactics on the fly.
The narrative incorporates classic JRPG elements, weaving together themes of destiny, lost memories, and a world on the brink of turmoil. You'll explore towns, interact with NPCs, and delve into dungeons following a traditional structure.
The dungeons themselves are carved from the remnants of divine weapons called Arma. They present challenging battlefields filled with puzzles, hidden secrets, and formidable enemies. Environments are diverse, ranging from frozen snowfields to scorching deserts.
Combat is centered around the Weapon Wheel, a system enabling quick weapon switches to target enemy vulnerabilities. You can also upgrade your equipment using materials gathered throughout your journey.
Trinity Trigger features fully voiced dialogue and smoothly animated cutscenes that enhance the story with high-quality visuals. You can alternate between three playable characters, each capable of wielding nine different weapons and a unique set of skills.
If you're curious, the game is available on the Google Play Store for $19.99.
