Suikoden's latest venture, Suikoden STAR LEAP, is poised to offer players a console-quality experience on their mobile devices. In a revealing interview with Famitsu on March 4, 2025, the game's developers provided insights into their creative process.

Star Leap's Producer, Shinya Fujimatsu, elucidated Konami's decision to target mobile platforms, stating, "Our goal was to make Suikoden accessible to as many people as possible. Mobile is the most convenient platform for this, and we are committed to infusing STAR LEAP with the true essence of Suikoden." The team's ambition is to blend the high-quality visuals, sound, and storytelling of console games with the ease of access that mobile platforms offer.

Expressing Suikoden in STAR LEAP

Fujimatsu highlighted the unique blend of war and friendship that defines Suikoden, emphasizing its importance in STAR LEAP. He noted, "It's crucial for Suikoden STAR LEAP to vividly portray the saga of the new 108 stars."

This new installment will officially become part of the series' canon, starting two years before the events of the original Suikoden and spanning across different eras to connect with Suikoden 1 through 5.
