Prismatic Shard Locations

There are multiple ways to find a Prismatic Shard, though each method comes with varying degrees of probability:

• After reaching the bottom of the Mines, all monsters have a 0.05% chance of dropping a Prismatic Shard.
• A 0.09% chance to find one in the chum bucket of a Fish Pond populated by Rainbow Trout. The pond must contain at least 9 fish to activate this chance.
• A 0.1% chance to drop from Serpents and Mummies in Skull Cavern, or from Wilderness Golems and Iridium Golems after reaching Combat Level 10.
• A 0.4% chance to appear inside an Omni Geode or a Mystery Box.
• A 0.79% chance to appear inside a Golden Mystery Box.
• A 3.5% chance to drop from an Iridium Node in Skull Cavern, the Volcano Dungeon, or the Quarry.
• Approximately a 3.8% chance of discovering one in a Treasure Chest in Skull Cavern.
• A 25% chance to drop from a Mystic Node (a dark blue stone with curlicue patterns) in Skull Cavern, the Quarry, or in the Mines at floors 100 and above.
• A 25% chance to drop from a meteorite that crash-lands on your farm.
• One is available in a chest the first time you reach the end of the Volcano Dungeon.
• If Emily hosts a stall at the Desert Festival, she will sell one Prismatic Shard for 500 Calico Eggs.

The most reliable way to obtain Prismatic Shards is through the Statue Of True Perfection, which produces one Prismatic Shard daily. However, acquiring this statue is challenging, as it is awarded upon achieving 100% perfection, as indicated by the Perfection Tracker in Mr. Qi's Walnut Room on Ginger Island. Prismatic Shard Uses

Prismatic Shards have a wide range of applications in Stardew Valley. They can be donated to the Museum, which is essential for the "Complete Collection" achievement, or sold for 2000g each. However, their other uses can be particularly beneficial in various gameplay scenarios.

Crafting & Bundles

The Prismatic Shard is one of six options for the Missing Bundle, necessary to unlock the Movie Theater. This bundle appears in the abandoned JojaMart after completing the Community Center.

For multiplayer enthusiasts, the Prismatic Shard is a key ingredient in crafting the Wedding Ring, used to propose marriage to another player. In addition to the gem, you'll need 5 Iridium Bars. You can purchase the recipe from the Traveling Cart for 500g.

Gifting

The Prismatic Shard is a Loved gift for all villagers except Haley; thus, it can be a strategic choice for building relationships with your favorite bachelor or bachelorette, or other villagers. While each villager has other Loved gifts that are easier to obtain, Prismatic Shards are invaluable for maximizing your relationships with NPCs.

Weapons

One Prismatic Shard is required to acquire the Galaxy Sword, one of Stardew Valley's most powerful weapons. To obtain it, bring a Prismatic Shard to the Calico Desert and stand in the center of the three obelisks; the shard will transform into this legendary weapon.

Additionally, Prismatic Shards, along with several Cinder Shards, can be used to enchant tools and weapons at Ginger Island's Volcano Forge, adding magical effects to enhance your gear.

Trades

On Thursdays, the trader in Calico Desert offers one Magic Rock Candy in exchange for three Prismatic Shards. This item provides significant boosts to Mining, Attack, and Defense, as well as minor Luck and Speed enhancements.

For a darker transaction, you can take a Prismatic Shard to the Witch's Hut and interact with the Dark Shrine of Selfishness. This action will transform your children into doves, permanently removing them from the game.

Quests

Currently, the only quest involving Prismatic Shards is Mr. Qi's Four Precious Stones, available in the Walnut Room. To complete it, you must bring four Prismatic Shards to Mr. Qi by the specified deadline.
