Square Enix has solidified its commitment to Kingdom Hearts 4 with a fresh social media update, accompanied by new images that confirm the game’s ongoing development.
Yesterday, Square Enix announced the cancellation of Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, a mobile action-RPG reliant on GPS, while reassuring fans that the team remains fully dedicated to Kingdom Hearts 4.
"We’re pouring our hearts into Kingdom Hearts 4, striving to craft an experience that surpasses your hopes," stated the first of two posts, paired with a collection of screenshots showcasing characters, cinematic moments, combat, platforming, and a formidable giant enemy.

"Your enthusiasm fuels us, and we’re deeply thankful," the second post continued. "We’re just as thrilled and eager to reveal more about Kingdom Hearts 4 when the moment is right. Thank you for your patience and unwavering support."
This marks the first significant update on the eagerly awaited sequel in months, following a brief, enigmatic tease in January. Initially unveiled in September 2022 with a cinematic trailer, Square Enix had since remained largely silent—until now.
Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series, has previously suggested that Kingdom Hearts 4 will, after 22 years and 18 titles, steer the narrative toward its culmination.
Regarding the canceled Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, Square Enix expressed "sincere apologies to fans who were excited for its release," noting that the project was terminated as it was "deemed challenging to deliver a service that would consistently satisfy players over time."
