Hollow Knight: Silksong will be featured as a playable demo at Australia's National Museum of Screen Culture. Read on for details about this upcoming exhibition and what Silksong enthusiasts can anticipate.
Hollow Knight: Silksong remains one of gaming's most eagerly awaited titles. Fans may finally get hands-on experience as ACMI's upcoming Game Worlds exhibition (running September 18, 2025 through February 8, 2026) will feature a playable version. This new build promises significant advancements from the 2019 E3 demo many considered a technical proof-of-concept.
The exhibition will showcase prominent titles including World of Warcraft, The Sims, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, each featuring exclusive builds alongside original design materials and concept art.
ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell told IGN: "As one of the most anticipated indie games since its 2019 announcement, we're proud to feature this South Australian creation as a centerpiece of Game Worlds."
The exhibition will provide unprecedented access to Silksong's development process. "From Hornet's intricate sprite animations to the design philosophy behind boss encounters - plus playable access - our displays reveal deep insights into the game's artistic vision," explained the curators.
While the exhibition doesn't confirm a release date (pegged for 2025 during last month's Switch 2 Direct), its duration through February 2026 suggests possible availability within this timeframe.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, Nintendo Switch/2, and PC. For continued updates on the game's development journey, stay tuned to our coverage.
