If you're aiming for the perfect ending in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, completing specific tasks, such as saving Sam, is essential. Knowing where to find Sam is crucial for achieving the best outcome.
As you approach the conclusion of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is being held captive at Praguer's Camp after being captured by Brabant. Your opportunity to rescue him comes during the main quest "Reckoning." You can't simply stroll into the camp and free him; instead, you must choose between stealth and violence.
To move around the camp undetected, you'll need a guard's outfit. You can obtain one by either killing a guard and stealing his attire or by looting one of the many chests scattered throughout the camp. Once you have the outfit, equip it to freely explore the camp in search of Sam without arousing suspicion.

Sam is located in the barn on the left side of the camp, beyond the open area with a cooking fire. Use the ladder on the side of the barn to enter and confront Brabant. At this juncture, you have critical choices: you can either kill or spare Brabant. Opting to spare him contributes to achieving the best ending, though the decision is ultimately yours.
After freeing Sam, it's not yet time to escape with him. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, who is also in the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, then find a horse, and finally return to Sam to get him out of the camp. Sam can wait safely while you complete these tasks, making this sequence more efficient, especially since you'll need to carry him to the horse.
Von Aulitz is located in the main part of the camp. Wearing the guard's outfit allows you to enter his quarters without challenge. Upon finding him, you'll see that he's already dying. He requests a dignified death, which is the most honorable choice. Alternatively, you can kill him brutally or leave him to die slowly. While these choices have minimal impact, leaving him to die contributes to the best ending.
Once you've dealt with von Aulitz, all that remains is to retrieve Sam and a horse. Sam will still be in the barn where you left him. If a guard questions your actions, simply explain that you're moving a body, which will dispel any suspicion. Head towards the camp gates, turn right, and follow the perimeter until you reach the stables.
