Rockstar, the masterminds behind the iconic GTA series, have surprised fans with a fresh Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile platforms. It's been a whopping six years since the last update, and now, the wait is finally over. This new update is exclusively available for mobile users, leaving console and PC gamers on the sidelines.
Bully: Anniversary Edition has been enhanced with new language options, and the update zeroes in on stability improvements and bug fixes. Rockstar has made the strategic decision to temporarily disable Friends Challenges while they iron out any issues.
Android users with compatible devices will now enjoy Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), while both Android and iOS players can appreciate the updated app icon and the added haptic feedback for a more immersive experience.
Numerous mission-specific bugs have been squashed. For instance, the notorious 'That Bitch' mission where Mandy’s locker was impossible to pick has been fixed. Similarly, 'Weed Killer' now progresses smoothly even if you break the window prematurely. The infamous police cars in 'The Rumble' that previously plummeted through the floor have been stabilized. Additionally, the update addresses the issue where enemies would bizarrely refuse to attack Jimmy, ensuring fights feel balanced and engaging. It also resolves crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.
The fanbase has been clamoring for Bully 2 for years, but Rockstar seems to be channeling their resources elsewhere. Rumors suggest that a sequel was in development during the 2010s, but it was ultimately shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the lucrative GTA Online.
With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects of Bully 2 appear slim, especially with many of the original developers having moved on from Rockstar. Although this update isn't a full remaster or sequel, it's a welcome upgrade for mobile players.
For newcomers, Bully offers a unique take on the schoolyard sandbox genre. You step into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a rebellious 15-year-old navigating the chaotic life at Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world mischief, making it a must-play experience.
