The 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) has kicked off, marking the first international PUBG Mobile Esports event of the year. With over 90,000 competitors registered, the excitement is palpable as the Open Qualifiers began on February 13th. This tournament offers a golden opportunity for emerging talent to showcase their skills and vie for a coveted spot in the PMGO Main Event.
With a substantial $500,000 prize pool at stake, teams are gearing up to prove their mettle through several rounds of intense competition. Notably, this event is exclusively for amateurs, spotlighting new talent and giving them a chance to shine on the global stage.
Teams that boast at least one player ranked in the Ultimate 500 from Cycle 7 Season 20 or 21 have already advanced to Round 2 of the Open Qualifiers. Over the coming weeks, these emerging squads will fight fiercely to secure their place in the PMGO Prelims, where they'll confront the top teams emerging from the Uzbekistan Offline Qualifiers.
From the Prelims, twelve teams will earn the opportunity to compete against PUBG Mobile's elite professionals in the PMGO Main Event. The main event will feature four teams already qualified based on their performances at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024: Regnum Carya, Nigma Galaxy, 4Merical Vibes, and Influence Rage. Additionally, four more teams will join the fray from regional competitions, including the PMSL SEA Spring, PMGO Korea Qualifier, and the Peacekeeper Elite League Spring season.
The Open Qualifiers are scheduled to conclude on March 2nd, followed by the Prelims on April 10th-11th, culminating in the Main Event on April 12th-13th. This tournament signifies the commencement of an action-packed year for PUBG Mobile Esports, with the PUBG Mobile World Cup and the PMGC slated to return later in 2025.
