The latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, dubbed Shining Revelry, has introduced dazzling new shiny variants to the game, along with over 110 new cards that have fans buzzing with excitement. This expansion brings new additions from the Paldea region, further enriching the game's universe. As soon as the update went live, I couldn't resist spending some of my hard-earned Pack Hourglasses to open ten packs. My efforts were rewarded with a Charizard EX, although the rest of the haul was less impressive. However, pulling a Pokémon Center Lady card gave me some comfort, knowing she can heal Special Conditions—a handy advantage when dealing with tricky statuses like Burn.
Alongside the new cards, the update typically introduces an Emblem event, where players can earn stylish new badges to show off to their friends. This time, the excitement ramps up with the introduction of Ranked Matches. Players will now have the opportunity to battle other Trainers, progressing from Beginner to Master Ball Rank over a season that lasts approximately one month. Points earned will be displayed, and at the end of the season, players will be awarded an emblem based on their performance. This feature is motivating me to dust off my dueling skills and start seriously building my decks.
If you're eager to dive into the fun, you can download Pokémon TCG Pocket for free from the App Store and Google Play, though it does include in-app purchases.
