This set shines a spotlight on four iconic Trainers: N, Iono, Lillie, and Hop, each paired with unique Pokémon ex that highlight their strong bonds. Whether you're eager to build a deck featuring N’s Zoroark ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, or Iono’s Bellibolt ex, Journey Together offers a chance to explore these dynamic Trainer-Pokémon relationships.

With over 180 cards in the set, collectors and players have a lot to look forward to. Journey Together includes more than 40 Trainer's Pokémon, 16 Pokémon ex, 11 Illustration Rares, six Special Illustration Rares, and three Hyper Rare gold cards. The return of Box Toppers, featuring a stamped N’s Reshiram Illustration Rare, adds another layer of excitement.
Opening a Booster Box is an exhilarating experience. With 36 packs, the thrill of each pull is heightened. My highlights included N’s Reshiram Illustration Rare, Iono’s Bellibolt ex Secret Rare, and a Hyper Rare Spiky Energy. These were standout moments, but even the numerous solid ex cards I pulled will enhance my decks.
Despite not finding Hop’s Zacian ex or Lillie’s Clefairy ex Special Art Rare, the sheer variety of cards in a Booster Box made the experience worthwhile. For those who enjoy opening packs and want a large collection boost, a Booster Box is the way to go.
Elite Trainer Boxes offer a premium experience. The N’s Zorua promo card caught my eye immediately, and the box itself is ideal for card storage. The included sleeves, dice, and condition markers are perfect for players, and with nine booster packs, there’s still a good chance for great pulls.
Even with fewer packs, I was lucky enough to pull Iono’s Kilowattrel Illustration Rare, Articuno Illustration Rare, and a Veluza ex. These exciting additions made the Elite Trainer Box a rewarding choice for both its practical accessories and the thrill of pack openings.
Build & Battle Boxes offer a unique experience, perfect for those eager to dive into gameplay right away. The prebuilt 40-card deck, featuring Hop’s Snorlax as my promo, provided an immediate boost to my deck with its ability to enhance all of Hop’s Pokémon attacks.
The four packs included didn't disappoint, yielding Mamoswine ex and Swinub Illustration Rare, which complemented my deck's theme perfectly. For a quick start into playing with the new set, the Build & Battle Box is an excellent choice.
Across 49 booster packs from various products, I pulled 18 rare cards, each adding unique value to my collection. From the powerful Hop’s Snorlax to the versatile Spiky Energy Hyper Rare, these pulls offer diverse strategic options and collectible appeal.
Hop’s Snorlax is a robust Basic Pokémon with 150 HP, boosting all of Hop’s Pokémon attacks by an additional 30 damage. Its Dynamic Press attack packs a punch, though with significant recoil. This card is a must-have for any Trainer-themed deck.
N’s Zorua, while unremarkable on its own, sets the stage for evolving into the potentially powerful Zoroark ex, making it a card to watch.
Spiky Energy is an essential card, offering both offensive and defensive capabilities by dealing 20 damage whenever the attached Pokémon is hit, while also providing Colorless Energy.
Iono’s Bellibolt ex is a formidable Lightning-type with 280 HP and an Energy acceleration ability, making it a key player in Lightning decks.
Iris’s Fighting Spirit is a strategic draw Supporter card that lets you discard one card and draw until you have six, ideal for refreshing your hand in various deck types.
Iono’s Kilowattrel supports hand management with its Flashing Draw ability, requiring the discard of a Lightning Energy for its effect.
N’s Reshiram offers high-risk, high-reward gameplay with its Powerful Rage and Virtuous Flame attacks, becoming more potent as it takes damage.
Articuno accelerates Water Energy onto itself and deals respectable damage with Ice Blast, making it a solid starter for Water decks.
Swinub’s Call for Family ability is invaluable for early-game setup, despite its low damage output.
Salamence ex is a powerhouse, capable of spreading damage and delivering massive hits, making it a top choice for Dragon-type decks.
Hop’s Zacian ex is a formidable Steel-type with a powerful attack, requiring strategic switching to maximize its potential.
Alcremie ex provides consistent healing and solid damage output, making it an excellent choice for control decks.
Mimikyu ex excels at spreading damage and disrupting opponents with its Mischievous Hands and Ghostly Trip abilities.
Veluza ex is a high-risk, high-reward card, capable of dealing massive damage at the cost of discarding your entire hand.
Lillie’s Clefairy ex is a strategic choice for countering Dragon decks and scaling damage based on Bench size.
Volcanion ex is a strong Fire-type with burning capabilities and solid damage output, enhanced by its ability to move Energy.
Mamoswine ex is a durable tank with powerful search and damage-scaling abilities, ideal for evolution-heavy decks.
Another Salamence ex, this card's powerful attacks and damage-spreading capabilities make it a valuable addition to any collection.
Journey Together is poised to be a standout Pokémon TCG expansion, bringing back the nostalgic Trainer's Pokémon mechanic and offering a diverse range of cards for collectors and competitive players alike. Whether you're drawn to the stunning artwork, competitive potential, or nostalgic elements, this set is a must-have.
With its release date approaching on March 28, 2025, it's the perfect time to plan your card chase, whether it's for N’s Reshiram, Iono’s Bellibolt ex, or the elusive Hyper Rare Spiky Energy. Don't miss out on the excitement and potential of Journey Together.
