The Might and Mastery season in Pokémon Go is heading into its final stretch, with Niantic spotlighting the power of community. From Tuesday, May 20th through Thursday, May 22nd, trainers worldwide are invited to participate in the Strength in Numbers Global Challenge—a team effort centered around sending Gifts to friends. The more Gifts sent, the closer the global community gets to unlocking a special reward.
During the event, trainers can open up to 50 Gifts per day, increasing opportunities for Stardust, useful items, and friendship level progress. But the real prize lies in collective participation: if the global goal is met, players will unlock giftable Special Research tickets for the upcoming Community Day Classic featuring Machop.
Starting May 23rd, all trainers can send these Machop Special Research tickets to friends who have reached Great Friends status or higher. You don’t need to purchase a ticket for yourself to gift one—simply visit the in-game shop and share the Fighting-type excitement. Each trainer can send up to 20 tickets per day, making it easier than ever to help others join the fun.
This leads into the Machop Community Day Classic on May 24th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During the event window, Machop will appear more frequently in the wild, and its Shiny form will return—a perfect chance for trainers to complete their collection or build a powerful, glowing Machamp squad.
From now until May 31st, evolving Machoke will guarantee a Machamp that knows Payback, a Dark-type Charged Attack that adds strategic depth in battles. Additional bonuses include increased Stardust rewards, three-hour Incense and Lure Modules, and limited-time Timed Research offering a Machop encounter with boosted Shiny odds.
