Among the most eagerly awaited releases from last year, one that caught my attention was the upcoming Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage. The original Pirates Outlaws was a stylish, swashbuckling roguelike deckbuilder that hit the scene when the genre was still finding its footing. Now, its sequel is set to sail into Q3 of this year!
This "seaquel" brings us back to New Elysia, where another thrilling journey across the ocean waves awaits. Start your adventure by selecting a character, choosing a class ability, and building your initial deck. Set sail and let the adventure begin!
In Pirates Outlaws 2, you have the freedom to choose from multiple characters, each with seven distinct class options. Customize your deck and recruit an animal companion to enhance your strategic gameplay. With enhanced turn-based combat and a new card evolution tree, you'll have a formidable arsenal to conquer the seas!
Run out the guns! Pirates Outlaws 2 promises to be a significantly expanded sequel, allowing you to navigate freely across the map and explore countless permutations and combinations of cards and characters. For PC players, an upcoming Steam demo will offer the first opportunity to get hands-on with Pirates Outlaws 2.
My only concern stems from the animations in the reveal trailer, which seemed somewhat static to me. While fully animating these illustrations can be challenging, I'm hopeful that the final release will feature more dynamic effects when it launches on mobile later this year.
