Atlus producer Kazushi Wada reiterates the unlikelihood of Persona 3 Portable's popular female protagonist (FeMC), Kotone Shiomi/Minako Arisato, appearing in Persona 3 Reload. This decision, explained in a recent PC Gamer interview, stems from significant development challenges and budget constraints.
The high cost and extensive development time required to integrate the FeMC proved insurmountable, even considering post-launch DLC. While initially considered alongside the Episode Aigis - The Answer DLC, the feasibility of adding the FeMC was ultimately deemed impossible within the current timeframe.
Wada's statement, echoing previous comments to Famitsu, confirms that the inclusion of the FeMC would have demanded significantly more resources than the Episode Aigis DLC. This leaves fans disappointed, as many anticipated the FeMC's inclusion, either at launch or as future content, given her popularity in Persona 3 Portable. The producer's firm stance, however, makes a future appearance highly improbable.
Despite fan hopes, the significant development hurdles and cost associated with adding the FeMC ultimately prevented her inclusion in Persona 3 Reload. Wada's repeated statements leave little room for optimism regarding her future appearance in the game.
