Home > News > Oscar Isaac Exits Star Wars Event, MCU Fans Speculate Moon Knight in Avengers: Doomsday
Hold onto your seats, Marvel fans! Rumors are swirling that Oscar Isaac might be reprising his role as Moon Knight in the upcoming blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday. The speculation kicked into high gear after Star Wars Celebration announced that Isaac would no longer be attending their event in Japan due to changes in his production schedule. Initially, fans speculated that this could mean a return to the Star Wars universe as Poe Dameron, especially after Daisy Ridley's announcement at Star Wars Celebration 2023. However, with Avengers: Doomsday currently in production in London, many are now connecting the dots to Moon Knight.
Social media buzzed with excitement over the weekend:

While the theory remains unconfirmed, Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige hinted at more surprises to come. During a video call at CinemaCon, Feige noted that the livestream announcing the cast of Doomsday did not include everyone, saying, "We revealed many, not all." This leaves the door open for Isaac's potential involvement.
Isaac previously starred in the six-episode series Moon Knight in 2022, but no follow-up has been announced yet. Avengers: Doomsday is slated for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026, promising to bring back a host of heroes and introduce new faces in an epic saga.
In other MCU news, fans have been buzzing about Robert Downey Jr.'s recent Doctor Doom-themed 60th birthday invitation, adding more fuel to the speculation fire.
Last month's Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal was a major event, particularly for fans of the X-Men. Veteran actors like Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), and James Marsden (Cyclops) are all set to appear. Grammer debuted in the MCU via The Marvels' post-credits scene, while Stewart made a brief appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The inclusion of these X-Men actors raises intriguing questions about the plot: Is Avengers: Doomsday secretly setting up an Avengers vs. X-Men storyline?
