Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders Begin April 9

Nintendo has officially announced that preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will commence on April 9 in the United States, and April 8 in the UK. Mark your calendars, as the eagerly anticipated console will be available to purchase on June 5, 2025, priced at $449.99. Today's full reveal has set the gaming community abuzz with excitement about what's in store.

In addition to the standard console, Nintendo is offering a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle for $499.99 in the United States. This bundle, available from the launch day on June 5, includes the system and a download code for the Mario Kart World game. If you're more of a standalone buyer, Mario Kart World will be available separately for $79.99, a price that's sure to turn heads.

You can currently register your interest with Nintendo to be notified about preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories via the My Nintendo Store. Invitations to purchase will be sent out on a first-come, first-served basis via email, with priority given to users who have a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and at least 50 gameplay hours logged as of April 2, 2025. After priority users, remaining eligible registrants will be considered. Keep in mind that these invitations are non-transferable and valid for just 72 hours. You're limited to one system and one of each accessory per account. Major retailers will also open preorders on April 9, 2025.
