Nintendo Bids Farewell to "Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp"

Nintendo is ending support for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, much to the surprise of many players. The popular mobile game's online services will cease operation on November 28th, 2024, just days after its seventh anniversary. This means no more Leaf Tickets, no more Pocket Camp Club memberships (auto-renewal stops October 28th, no refunds after that date, but a commemorative badge will be awarded), and a final online farewell on November 28th at 7:00 AM PST. The last day to purchase Leaf Tickets is November 26th.

However, there's a silver lining. Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game in October 2024. While features like the Market Box, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites will be absent, core gameplay will remain. Players will retain their saved data and enjoy uninterrupted offline play.

This closure follows a trend of Nintendo phasing out mobile games, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost, and placing Mario Kart Tour in maintenance mode. While unexpected for some, the shutdown of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp isn't entirely surprising given this pattern. Players can download the game from the Google Play Store to enjoy its final days.
