Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary game designer, revealed this new communications initiative as a surprise announcement during today's March 2025 Nintendo Direct. The all-in-one application is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, packed with exclusive features for devoted Nintendo enthusiasts.

This comprehensive platform functions as both a news aggregator and daily calendar, delivering instant updates straight to players. Miyamoto explained that following next week's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation, fans can immediately check the Nintendo Today app for all the latest updates, with fresh content arriving "daily" thereafter.

The app offers a more immediate news experience compared to traditional Nintendo Direct presentations, encouraging fans to stay informed even between major announcements. Over time, beloved characters like Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing residents will greet users with daily surprises. The feed will showcase not just news, but also exclusive Nintendo-themed content—such as the showcased Pikmin 4 comic "Too Stuck to Pluck" and Animal Crossing’s sage otter Pascal offering his signature "Pearls of Wisdom."
