Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled a compelling new narrative game titled In Their Shoes, slated for release in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms. This game has already garnered attention, earning a nomination for the 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, which celebrate independent and arthouse games.
Set in the bustling, contradictory city of Milan, In Their Shoes invites players to step into the lives of seven distinct characters through 49 short, interactive stories known as Moments. Each Moment offers an intimate glimpse into a day in the life of a character, allowing you to experience their hesitations, routines, and the split-second decisions that shape their lives.
These Moments vary in pace; some unfold slowly, giving you time to immerse yourself in the character's thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, reflecting the urgency of real-life situations. Unlike other narrative games, In Their Shoes presents a narrative that is deliberately untidy, challenging players to piece together the scattered stories to uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character. It's a true slice-of-life experience.
While the Play Store page for the game is yet to be launched, you can explore more on the Steam page. For a sneak peek into the game, check out the announcement trailer below.
