Capcom has implemented a new system in Monster Hunter Wilds, enabling players to modify their hunter and Palico appearances. The initial edit is free, but further changes require Character Edit Vouchers, priced at $6 for three or $10 for a combined hunter and Palico set. Without vouchers, players are limited to adjusting hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing, with core facial features locked.

This paid customization feature was not revealed during the game’s early previews, only announced last week through Capcom’s social media. Despite criticism over microtransactions and performance concerns, Monster Hunter Wilds achieved a record-breaking 1.3 million concurrent Steam players at launch.
Capcom has not yet responded to player concerns about the paid model. Fans have voiced frustration, noting that earlier titles allowed free or in-game currency-based appearance changes, viewing this shift as a departure from a core franchise feature.
