Monster Hunter Now Trials Monster Outbreaks

Exciting developments are unfolding in Monster Hunter Now, as Niantic introduces a trial feature known as Monster Outbreaks. The team is gathering player feedback to refine the experience before a potential full launch.

Monster Outbreaks Testing Schedule in Monster Hunter Now

The trial period is scheduled for April 26th and 27th, with two daily sessions. Each day, from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and 3:00 to 3:59 p.m. local time, players can participate in the event.

During these outbreaks, specific map locations will spawn clusters of 8-star Black Diablos. Players are encouraged to form teams and work together to defeat 100 of these powerful monsters—not globally, but at each individual outbreak location within the one-hour timeframe.

To join the hunt, you must be at least Hunter Rank 11. Note that the party feature is disabled; only local, in-person group hunts are valid.

Outbreak locations are highlighted on the map with a unique icon. Tapping on an icon reveals event details, and a sign-up roster allows you to coordinate hunt times with other participants.

The collective slay count adds an interesting dynamic. If a team of four hunters defeats one monster, it contributes four kills toward the 100-monster goal.

Should your group reach the target before the event ends, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the hour. These outbreaks exclusively feature Black Diablos spawns.

Successful groups can earn valuable rewards. Achieving the 100-monster objective grants 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, using the sign-up roster unlocks a special Outbreak Test I Medal.

Ready to join the action? Download Monster Hunter Now from the Google Play Store and take part in the Monster Outbreaks trial this weekend.
