Microsoft Announces Xbox Games Showcase 2025 in June, Featuring The Outer Worlds 2 Direct

Microsoft has confirmed its exciting lineup for June, including the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and a dedicated The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. As is tradition, Microsoft will host its June showcase to unveil upcoming Xbox games, and this year is no exception. The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 is set to be livestreamed on Sunday, June 8, starting at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK time.

The showcase will provide a comprehensive look at forthcoming titles from Microsoft’s first-party studios, as well as exciting new games from third-party partners worldwide. Microsoft has a robust roster of games in development, including the much-anticipated Fable (now delayed to 2026), the Perfect Dark reboot, inXile’s Clockwork Revolution, Ninja Gaiden 4, Contraband from the Just Cause developers, Rare's Everwild, The Coalition's Gears of War: E-Day, Hideo Kojima’s OD, and Undead Labs' State of Decay 3. Additionally, Double Fine, the creators of Psychonauts, are working on a new title.

On the Activision Blizzard front, fans can expect news on the new Call of Duty game slated for later this year, alongside other releases from Blizzard. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, set to launch in July, may also feature in the showcase.

Microsoft may also tease new Xbox hardware. While a next-gen Xbox console and an Xbox handheld are rumored for a 2027 release, the showcase might touch on Xbox-branded handhelds from third-party companies.

Following the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft will host The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. This event, akin to the 2023 Starfield Direct and 2024 Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct, will delve deep into Obsidian Entertainment’s latest project. The Outer Worlds 2, expected to launch later in 2025, will showcase new gameplay, detailed insights, and developer perspectives from the team behind the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG.
