Metal Slug: Awakening delivers a modern update to the beloved 90s franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally debuting in Southeast Asia in late 2023 and now gearing up for a worldwide release.

For the uninitiated, Metal Slug is a celebrated Japanese run-and-gun series, originally launched in 1996 by Nazca Corporation and since expanded into a multimedia phenomenon. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) exist, Awakening promises a significant upgrade.

This new iteration retains the core run-and-gun gameplay, enhanced by stunning updated visuals and innovative mechanics. Rejoin your favorite Metal Slug characters in brand-new missions, across a World Adventure mode, team up with friends in 3-player co-op, and conquer challenging Roguelike levels.
