The highly anticipated release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially confirmed during Sony's State of Play 2025 broadcast, accompanied by an exciting new trailer. Fans can mark their calendars for August 28, 2025, a date that was leaked last week via the PlayStation Store, which also prematurely released the new trailer. Both the date and trailer were officially validated during the State of Play event.
Adding to the excitement, an Ape Escape collaboration was teased, hinting at more crossovers to come with a cryptic message that simply stated “And More.” This nod seems to be a reference to the original Metal Gear Solid 3, which included a unique monkey minigame where players, as Snake, would use stun grenades and the ‘Monkey Shaker’ gun to neutralize the animals.
While Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater introduces a new first-person perspective, it remains largely faithful to the original game. According to IGN's preview, "Metal Gear Solid Delta seems more like a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been. It’s an admittedly beautiful nostalgia trip, but almost faithful to a fault."
