NetEase Games has unveiled exciting updates for Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, titled "Eternal Night Falls," set to launch on January 10 at 1 AM PST. This new season will introduce Dracula as the main antagonist, adding a thrilling narrative element to the gameplay. Fans are eagerly anticipating the addition of The Fantastic Four to the game's roster, with Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman joining at the season's start, followed by Human Torch and The Thing six to seven weeks later.
The battle pass for Season 1 will be priced at 990 Lattice, equivalent to $10, and will feature an impressive lineup of 10 skins. As players progress through the battle pass, they will earn 600 Lattice and 600 Units, enhancing their in-game experience. In addition to the new heroes, Season 1 will bring three new maps and a fresh game mode called Doom Match, promising to keep the gameplay dynamic and engaging.
NetEase Games has also shared details about significant balancing changes in their latest Dev Vision video. Characters like Hela and Hawkeye, who have been deemed overpowered in Season 0, will receive nerfs to ensure a more balanced gameplay experience. These adjustments come in response to frequent hero bans in higher ranks. Conversely, mobility-based Vanguards such as Captain America and Venom will be buffed to encourage a more aggressive playstyle and improve their performance on the battlefield.
Further balancing updates will extend to other characters, including Wolverine and Storm, who will receive buffs to enhance their strategic value in matches. Players have previously called for improvements to these iconic mutants, with some even suggesting a class change for Wolverine to Vanguard. Cloak and Dagger are also set to receive boosts to increase their versatility across different team compositions. Additionally, Jeff the Land Shark will undergo changes to address discrepancies between his ultimate's early warning signals and its actual hitbox, though no major alterations to his ultimate ability have been announced.
While NetEase Games did not address the Seasonal Bonus feature, which has sparked some controversy among players, the anticipation for Season 1 remains high. Many fans are looking forward to the new content and updates, ready to dive into the action-packed world of Marvel Rivals when "Eternal Night Falls" launches.
