Solo developer Jo Drolet has unveiled the eagerly awaited release of Lhea and the Word Spirit, an innovative single-player roguelite game where players take on the role of guiding lost souls through enigmatic worlds. Embark on a poignant journey to seal the dreaded In-Between, teetering on the edge between life and death, with the guidance of an ancient Word Spirit. The game is beautifully presented with minimalist visuals and introduces a captivating "timeline battle system."
In Lhea and the Word Spirit, players will master the art of manipulating battle timelines to advance, utilizing a diverse array of enchanted rings that can be equipped and upgraded. These rings not only offer different spells but also unlock hidden secrets, allowing players to delve deeper into the mysteries of the In-Between. The roguelite nature of the game ensures that each run is unique, with procedurally generated realms demanding fresh strategies every time.
Jo Drolet shares her vision, saying, “I wanted to create this charming minimalistic world about life and death with the hope that players lose track of time and feel enspirited by this dance between unexpected discoveries, strategy flow, and heartwarming music.”
Lhea and the Word Spirit is slated for a full launch in August. However, eager fans can get a taste of the game earlier with a demo available during Steam Next Fest, running from June 9th to June 16th.
